All have heard of Babylon, but long before her time,

Chaldea ruled the ancient world, and worshipped gods malign,

LIKE THE FREE

These are times that’ll test the depths of any nation’s soul,

But in America we were born in fire, 200 years ago,

When freedom was the prize they won, at a cost so very dear,

Now vigilance is the shield we bear, to keep that freedom here.

Turning on the TV set, listening to the news,

Waiting for the President to state his point of view,

He’s standing with that Chief of Staff, looking mighty grim,

Says he’s got those facts in hand, and he got them straight from him.

I was standing by the ocean, looking out on the bay,

I was thinking just how beautiful God made it all this way,

I was watching for a whitecap coming ‘cross the sound,

There was sunlight on the water, gleaming all around.

‘Cause the oil slick’s floating everywhere,

Even on that ocean floor.

THE EARTH NEEDS HELP

The polar bear can't find his iceberg,

It doesn't exist anymore,

The bed where he slept is now nothing but wet

Water awash on the shore;

The rhino looks up at the zoo wall,

They barely hang on in the wild,

Their horn is a prize in the wrong people's eyes,

Each one gets killed with a smile;

So in the jungle zone and at the arctic shelves, the race is on, 

And the earth, the earth, needs help.

The monarch is only an insect,

And milkweed's a pest, don't you know,

So why should we care…

THE HONEY BEE SONG

Well, the honey bee, friend, ain’t done us no harm,

But, the bees are getting scarce, down on the honey bee farm,

Ain’t no one can say exactly what’s going on,

‘Cept when they go to the hive, you know, the honey bee’s gone.

Now, the bee been around since the Biblical time,

Serving up honey, and doing just fine,

So, when science do say, he ain’t doing so well,

Maybe science knows something, it ain’t willing to tell.
