NOTHING IN BETWEEN
I don’t care what you philosophize,
I don’t need your point of view,
I’ve been through your lifetime,
And I’ve been what you do.

You got all the answers,
For every twist and turn,
But, I’m here to tell you,
You got a heck of a lot to learn.

Well, you ramble on about freedom’s
Right to be wrong,
Defending your errors,
As truth all along.

You treat judgment to bias,
And fairness to shame,
Your one constant value,
Well, it’s personal gain.

Well, everybody’s talking ‘bout the wrong and right,
Blending into shades of gray,
How nothing’s all that simple, and that truth just depends
On what point of view wins today, hey,

Well, I don’t want to disturb your happiness,
Or undermine your point of view,
But you really should consider,
The truth of the matter,
And just what it means for you.

See, the direction that you’re heading’s either to or from,
‘Cause the road you’re traveling down is either off or on,
So, don’t try to split no hairs a’twixt the right and wrong,
When the time you have to spend, is quickly come and gone.

Well, you hybridize your falsehood,
With portions of truth,
To confuse the issue,
And disguise the proof.

Has covered your tracks,
But, God sees your real moves,
And He’s right on your back.
